QPR Suicide Prevention Training

QPR LogoSuicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the United States and the second leading cause of death among college and university students. However, suicide is also one of the most preventable causes of death.

Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and intervene effectively. QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer, three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.

QPR Suicide Prevention Training Sessions

QPR workshops can be arranged upon request for UMass Dartmouth-affiliated groups, including: academic classes, residence halls, athletic teams, and student organizations.

Workshops are 90 minutes in length and facilitated by certified QPR instructors.
