UMass Dartmouth/Town of Dartmouth to host Labor Day fireworks and jazz concert Community and University to join in celebration of a 40-year town/gown partnership The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the Town of Dartmouth will join Sept. 6 in presenting a fireworks display and jazz concert to welcome students back to the campus and celebrate the strong partnership that exists between the community and the University.

Strategic Envirotechnology Partnership (STEP) Program The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth today announced a request for proposal (RFP) for the FY05 STEP Program. The UMASS Dartmouth STEP Program funding for FY05 will be approximately $100,000, with individual awards of up to $20,000. Awards may be granted to UMASS faculty, other researchers or commercial enterprises. Past research topics have included air pollution control, industrial wastewater treatment, hazardous waste remediation, and pollution prevention.

Umass Dartmouth Library Associates Elect New Officers And Make Donation
DARTMOUTH, MA.- The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Library Associates elected officers for the upcoming academic year and donated $7,000 to the University Library. Dr. Mel Yoken, the Associates immediate past president, presented the check to Library Dean Ann Montgomery Smith at the organizations annual meeting, which featured a talk by Robert Manning, lifelong journalist and former editor of The Atlantic Monthly.
Leadership Southcoast Program Extends Application Deadline
Leadership SouthCoast is sponsoring a year-long leadership institute for regional executives and business leaders that have relocated to the area. A two-day retreat will kick off the program Thursday and Friday, September 9 and 10, followed by nine full-day, once-a-month sessions.
