Sigma Xi Society Will Hold Annual Research Exhibit
DARTMOUTH, MA. - The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Sigma Xi Society announced that its tenth annual research exhibit is scheduled for April 27 and 28 in the university library. This two-day exhibit features research projects conducted by graduate and undergraduate students, faculty and staff. The UMD Sigma Xi Society is a university-based chapter of a national organization that promotes scholarly research activities in science and engineering.
The Gundecha Brothers Will Perform Dhrupad
The Center for Indic Studies at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is pleased to announce an extraordinary Indian classical music concert by the famed exponents of dhrupad, the Gundecha Brothers on Saturday, May 1 at 7 p.m. The concert will take place in room 153 in the College of Visual and Performing Arts building. Umass Kekeli African Drum And Dance Ensemble Spring Concert
The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Kekeli African Drum and Dance Ensemble will present its spring concert in honor of Mother's day on Thursday, May 13th, as part of the AHA! Downtown New Bedford festival. The evening's performance will begin at 7 pm in front of the Star Store Center for Culture and the Arts located at the corner of Purchase and Union streets in downtown New Bedford. In the event of rain, the concert will be held at the Nativity Prep School around the corner at 66 Spring Street.

New Diaspora Drama Festival Comes To New Bedford In May
The festival will take place at the Neighborhood College Theatre of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, located at 1215 Purchase Street in New Bedford, Massachusetts. The films on May 19, 20, 21, 22 will be presented at 8 p.m. in the evening and at 4 p.m. in the afternoon on Sunday the 23rd of May. Tickets are $10 per night or $40 for a festival pass.

The show is on display in the main gallery of the Visual and Performing Arts building on the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth main campus. The exhibit opened Monday, April 12th and continues through Tuesday, May 4th. It is free and open to the public with parking available in lots 8, 9 or 10. A closing reception will be held on Tuesday May 4th from 5-7 PM in the Main Gallery. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10AM until 4PM, and on Saturday, April 24, from10AM until 4PM.
2004 Waxler Memorial Prize For Social Justice
DARTMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth announced today that Ms. Brenna Kraus has been selected to receive the 2004 Jonathan Blake Waxler Memorial Prize for Social Justice. The award was established in 1996 by the University to keep alive Jonathan Waxler's own idealism and vision. Ms. Kraus will receive the $500 award that recognizes her efforts to personify a similar principled commitment to political activism.
