U.S. News and World Report ranks the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth as a top public master's level university in the North, according to its annual survey of America's Best Colleges.
The 2002 ranking also listed UMass Dartmouth in its second tier within the category that combines both private and public universities in the North.
The annual college-ranking guide defines Master's level schools as those offering primarily baccalaureate and master's degrees. The editors formerly designated this category as regional.
The categories that include UMass Dartmouth comprise universities in the New England States, plus New York, New Jersey and Maryland.
