Upward Bound alumnus Dr. Patricia Andrade to receive award
Dr. Patricia Andrade, a local surgeon and chairwoman of the New Bedford Board of Public Health, has been selected by the Council on Opportunity in Education (COE) to receive a National TRIO Achievers Award.

UMass Dartmouth Alumni Association elects board of directors- Announced at Annual Board Meeting on June 25, 2002 The Alumni Association of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has elected a slate of directors, as well as new officers who will serve 3 year terms beginning on July 1, 2002. The board of directors guides the Alumni Association in its work supporting the university's 30,000 alumni as well as its students, academic, cultural and regional economic outreach mission, according to Alumni Director Donald A. Berube, Esq. 84.

Worker's Education Program at UMass Dartmouth to honor 250
The Workers Education Program of the Arnold M. Dubin Labor Education Center at UMass Dartmouth will honor 250 men and women who have successfully participated in Adult Basic Education, ESOL, ABE, Pre-GED, GED, and Citizenship classes. The 17th annual Recognition Celebration will be held on Friday, June 21, at 7:00 PM at the United Fishermen Club in New Bedford.

The Students of Color Recognition & Graduation Banquet for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's class of 2002 will be held on Sunday, May 19, from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. The event will take place in the Commuter Cafeteria, located in the university's Campus Center.
