The UMass Dartmouth Department of Education and office of Professional & Continuing Education are pleased to announce an Open House to learn about Teacher Certification, Master of Arts in Teaching and MTEL Prep Courses. It will be held Tuesday, August 23, 5:00-7:00 pm at the UMass Dartmouth Professional & Continuing Education Center in Fall River. The Center is located at 139 South Main Street, the former Cherry & Webb building.
The Open House provides an opportunity to meet with admissions, advisors, faculty and current students to learn more about graduate and certificate programs and teacher prep courses offered through UMass Dartmouth. According to Dr. David Rock, chairperson of the Education Department, “You can become a certified math or science teacher in as little as one year if you already have a bachelor’s degree. With math and science teachers in high demand, this would be a great opportunity to become a licensed teacher if you ever considered changing your career.”
Courses are offered through the Division of Professional & Continuing Education (PCE). With locations in Dartmouth, Fall River, New Bedford and Cape Cod, PCE is committed to providing a learning environment that will let students explore academic courses or pursue personal interests. Our programs can accommodate your objectives whether you are returning to school at a pace of your choosing, or continuing your education while enrolled in a degree program at another college or university. Many of our continuing education students work full time, have family responsibilities and have limited time available to study. That's why we do all we can to accommodate your schedule.
Professional & Continuing Education has anytime, all-the-time enrollment. Please visit August 23rd to meet our friendly academic advisors and enroll for Fall 2005 courses.
