NFI Meeting: An Overview of Student Support Services Available to Students and Faculty

Student Affairs staff will share information and referral contacts pertaining to the services that faculty are likely to utilize in their efforts to support students.  Information will also be shared to help foster faculty involvement in student life outside the classroom.

NFI Meeting: COIN and Academic Advising

3:00-5:00 pm, Library 226

Kristina Leonardo and Keith Coutu from the Registrar’s Office will conduct an academic advising workshop.

October

NFI Meeting: Provost and Deans Meeting,

3:00-5:00 pm, Library 314

Provost Karim and the Deans from the different colleges will come to discuss contract renewals, tenure, teaching, research and service.

October 11

No Meeting this Week, since classes will follow Monday’s schedule on this date.

NFI Meeting: Grant Writing,

3:00-5:00 pm, Library 314

Chris Eisenhart, Chair of the English Department, will invite participants to discuss and analyze actual grant proposals in order to convey the crucial elements of grant writing.

October 25

NFI Meeting: Faculty Federation and Faculty Senate

3:00-5:00 pm, Library 314

Cathy Curran (President, Faculty Federation) and Doug Roscoe (President, Faculty Senate) will discuss the union and faculty governance.

November 1

No meeting this week. The Provost will be hosting a faculty recognition event from 3:00 to 5:00.

November 8

NFI Meeting: Grants and Research

3:00-5:00 pm, Library 314

Andrew Karberg, Director of Research Compliance, will discuss commercial ventures and institutional compliance. Elena Glatman, Director of Sponsored Projects Administration, and her team will also present information on grants and research opportunities available for UMass Dartmouth faculty.

November 15

NFI Meeting: Contract Renewals and Annual Reviews,

3:00-5:00 pm, OFD Lounge (Library 220)

This session will focus on the processes and procedures of annual reviews and contract renewals.

November      22      

No meeting this week due to Thanksgiving holiday.

 November      29         

Reflecting on the Semester, 3:00-4:00 pm.

 Wine and Cheese, 4:00-5:00.
