Welcome to our new students and welcome back to our returning students!

On behalf of the 200 educators in the Division of Student Affairs, I’m delighted to have the opportunity to share words of welcome with you. Whether you joined our community as a first-year student, a transfer student, a student from Mount Ida or a graduate student, please know that you MATTER to our community and we are thrilled you are here.

I joined the Corsair family in July 2018 and am honored to have the opportunity to work closely with staff from the Career Development Center, Center for Access and Success, Center for Religious and Spiritual Life, Center for Women, Gender & Sexuality, Counseling Center, Frederick Douglass Unity House, Health Services, Housing & Residential Education, LiveWell/Health Education, Student Activities, Involvement & Leadership, Student Affairs, and Student Conduct & Dispute Resolution, and the UMassD Police.

We are here to help you obtain a better sense of self, what it means to be part of a community, and to craft the future you desire. We know the commitment and sacrifice it takes to earn a degree and are proud to partner with colleagues across the University to afford you a personalized academic and student life experience that prepares you for the future of work. We are committed to your success, health and well-being and want to hear from you about what you desire, expect and need!

To that end, please be an active participant in your experience – come to programs and events, stop by offices and get to know us – we are here because of you and want to know, support, challenge and encourage you! Also be sure to engage with us on social media - @UMassDStudents on Insta and Facebook – and please be sure to come out and take advantage of the wide range of programs and services available to you. The What’s Up UMassD app is a great resource and source of information in addition to other channels on campus.

Finally, be sure to join us in showing your #CorsairPride on Fridays by wearing your blue and gold – you never know what you might be gifted if caught showing your pride. I hope you are as #ProudToBeUMassD as I am!
