The Value of a Liberal Arts Degree
Dr. Jeannette Riley, Dean of College of Arts and Sciences, believes in the value of a UMass Dartmouth liberal arts education.
In this video, Dean Riley explains that liberal arts students learn to think critically, write effectively, communicate their positions, and collaborate with others. These skills help students enter the workforce and allow them to shift as the economy changes. She also points out that a liberal arts degree allows students to pursue what they are passionate about, so they they can begin a career in areas that interest them.
