Finding content

Consistent messaging and frequent posting are key to your social media success. Often, it may seem challenging to find content. Topics you can post about include:

  • student stories - internships, research, study abroad
  • alumni success
  • faculty research
  • awards & recognition
  • department news

Tip: Actively search for content by talking to colleagues and following faculty on Facebook and Twitter.

The university marketing team regularly writes features and news stories about students and faculty.

You can create multiple posts from each story, pulling from the three main parts: title, summary, and pull quote. All posts should always include:

  • year of graduation
  • picture
  • link to the feature or news story
  • relevant tags

Using photography

Your photos should reflect the university. Take photos around campus or during an event, and share photos taken by students, faculty, and staff.

You can also use Cumulus, UMassD's photo database, to supplement your own photos when needed.
