Women and Negotiation
Presented in collaboration with UMassD Alumni Relations, College of Engineering, and Women in Defense-Greater Boston Chapter
Wednesday, December 2
5:00-7:00 p.m.
This interactive virtual presentation will look at gender differences in the arena of negotiation. We will explore how women approach the negotiation table, and how to leverage our strengths. You’ll learn important negotiation tactics, negotiation myths, and the unexpected value of using personal style in effective compromise.
Hands-on negotiation practice, with an improv twist
Keynote speaker Karen Hough, CEO of ImprovEdge, will guide students and industry members through interactive exercises and dialogue to help you acquire the skills to become a better negotiator in a variety of situations.
Establish relationships with mentors
This event is an opportunity for students to be paired with mentors who work in engineering fields. Upload your resume on the registration page, and you'll be matched up with an alum or industry professional who can provide valuable advice that can help you get ahead.
Register
This event is free for students. Alumni and industry professionals are directed to register through the Women in Defense-Greater Boston Chapter website. The fee is $20 for members of WID/NDIA and $40 for non-members. Proceeds from the event will primarily support the WID-GBC’s scholarship for UMassD College of Engineering students.
