A weekend of UMassD pride for alumni, students, families, faculty and staff!

Don't miss the free student concert on Friday and Saturday's Blue & Gold Festival featuring entertainment, food, Arnie and his local sports mascot friends, a petting zoo with pony rides, and more!

Schedule of Events

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus are required to wear masks in public areas indoors on campus (regardless of their vaccination status). The COVID-19 vaccination is required for UMassD students, faculty, and staff attendees and is highly recommended for all visitors. Please self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 and if you feel sick, stay home.

9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. UMassD Engage: A morning of service

Location: Meet outside the Marketplace.
Free

Join the UMassD community for a morning of service volunteering at local community organizations and on campus.  Participants will meet at the Marketplace then board transportation to the sites, then return to campus to celebrate at a lunch buffet. Choose from the following service sites:

  • Gifts to Give (New Bedford): Volunteers will process donated children’s items to create individual gift packages which are then gifted to local children-in-need. 
  • Forever Paws Animal Shelter (Fall River): Volunteers will help with the animal shelter's daily operations such as walking & socialize dogs and cats, cleaning kennels, and laundry. Weather permitting.
  • NAACP (New Bedford): Learn about the home of grassroots activism for civil rights and social justice and the NAACP's vision to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is no racial hatred or racial discrimination.
  • UMassD trail clean up: Keep UMassD beautiful by cleaning one of the five trails on campus.
  • Active Minds (on-campus): Volunteers will promote mental health awareness and education for young adults by making cards for local middle school students.

12:00-1:30 p.m. Leadership Luncheon

Current students will meet UMassD alumni and community leaders to hear about their college experience and careers, while our guests will learn more about our students’ career aspirations.

6:00-8:00 p.m. 33rd Annual Corsair Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

$50 per person, includes heavy hors d'oeuvres. Cash bar available.

Celebrate the 2021 inductees to the Corsair Athletics Hall of Fame: Kevin Cutler '16, track and field; Trod Harold Jr. '10, football; Thomas Monahan '20, men's tennis; Colleen Moriarty '13, women's basketball; Mike Owens '12, ice hockey; and the 1988 softball team.

Location: Amphitheater field
Free admission for students and alumni. Cash bar for 21+. 

DJs, performers, and a spectacular light show will transform the Amphitheater field into a huge outdoor dance club experience for students and alumni. You don't want to miss the biggest party of the semester!

11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Drag Brunch celebrating 50+1 Years of Center for Women, Gender, & Sexuality

Location: Quad
Cost: $50 per person, includes brunch and two drink tickets

Let’s toast to 50+1 years of the Center for Women, Gender, & Sexuality! Covid cancelled last year’s party, but the celebration is on this weekend with a fun drag brunch featuring Complete Destruction and Miss Jacqueline DiMera.

Cheer on the field hockey team and watch the halftime ceremony honoring field hockey alum Robin Dziedzic Drew ’07, who was inducted into the Little East Conference Hall of Fame in 2020.

11:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Blue & Gold Festival

Location: Quad
Free admission. Food and beverage available for purchase, cash bar for 21+. Students may use meal swipes for food purchase.

Students, families, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to enjoy entertainment, food, fun, and more outdoors on the quad between our brand new residence halls. The festival features Arnie and his local mascot friends, axe throwing, a bouncy house, petting zoo with pony rides, and more! The first 250 alumni who register for the Blue & Gold Festival will receive a free t-shirt!

Location: Practice Field
$5 pre-registration/$10 at the door, includes snacks. Cash bar for guests 21+.

Head down to the Corsair Beer Garden outside Cressy Field for fun, lawn games, and watch UMassD football take on Mass. Maritime.

2:30 p.m. UMassD Football vs. Mass. Maritime Academy

Get your blue and gold on and fill the stands at Cressy Field for the signature Blue & Gold Weekend football game. The Corsairs kick off at 2:30 against Mass. Maritime, with a halftime ceremony honoring football alum Trod Harold Jr. '10, a Corsair Athletics Hall of Fame 2021 inductee.

6:30-8:30 p.m. UMassD Football Alumni Reunion
