NUR 676: Mental Health Nursing II

Prerequisite: NUR 564, 565, & 554; Corequisite: NUR 677

Exploration of systems of psychotherapy and therapeutic modalities used by the PMHNP across the lifespan.This 2-credit graduate nursing course is the second psychiatric mental health course that builds on the role of the advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) from NUR 564. This course utilizes psychotherapy interventions with consideration to culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The course emphasizes the therapeutic nurse-patient relationship as the basis of psychotherapeutic treatment.
