Beginning in 1986, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth has held an Honors Convocation each spring. Over its first twenty years, the Honors Convocation grew and changed as the University did, with individual departments and other organizations adding more and different awards to the program. The Convocation has now become a smaller, more intimate event as colleges and some departments now host their own separate honors recognition events for awards relevant to specific academic areas.

Students recognized at this ceremony have accomplished one or more of the following:

  • received prestigious named university-wide scholarships or awards
  • completed the undergraduate four-year honors curriculum to become Commonwealth Scholars
  • merited other specific university-wide recognitions
