Step 1: Visit the UMassD Forage Page

Go to: https://www.theforage.com/landing/university-of-massachusetts-cmsu3/virtual-a-day-MHKx

This page is customized for UMass Dartmouth students and curated by the Career Center. It connects you directly with career simulations across industries—from cybersecurity to consulting, software development, and more.

• In the top-right corner, click “Sign Up” if you're new.
• Already have an account? Click “Sign In.”
• Always use your @umassd.edu email for a tailored experience.

After entering your UMassD email:

• New User: You’ll be taken to the Create Free Account page where you can complete your sign-up.
• Returning User: You’ll go to the Sign In page and be asked to enter your password.

• Prefer not to use a password? - Click “Email me a sign-in link” to get a one-time secure login link in your inbox.

Step 4: First-Time Account Setup

On the "Create Account" page:

1. Confirm your @umassd.edu email is correct (shown at the top).
2. Fill in the required fields:

• • First Name and Last Name
  • Password: Must be at least 15 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, and numbers.
  • Date of Birth
  • School Status: Select “University”, then type and choose “University of Massachusetts Dartmouth”
  • Expected Graduation Date: Format as MM/YYYY (e.g., May 2026 → 05/2026)

3. Click “Agree & Join.”

Education Info:

• Level of Study: Choose Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.
• Major: e.g., Computer Science, Business, Psychology
• GPA (optional)
• Secondary Email (optional but recommended)
• Click “Next.”

Location & Career Preferences:

• Authorized to Work: Select “United States of America”
• Visa Status: Choose “No” (if not applicable)
• Primary Residence: e.g., Dartmouth, MA
• Willing to Relocate: Yes or No
• Career Interests: Select areas like Marketing, Engineering, Law
• How Did You Hear About Us?: Choose “Careers Center”
• Click “Next.”

Company Preferences:

• Choose companies you'd like to hear from (e.g., Citi, BCG, EA).
• Or skip if unsure.
• Click “Save.”

You must verify your account before you can make profile changes or start programs.

• Check your UMassD email inbox for a message from “Forage.”
• Click the link inside to confirm your email.

Don’t see it? Check your Spam or Junk folder.

Once logged in and verified, you’ll land on your personalized dashboard. You can now:

• Explore real-world virtual experiences
• Enroll in simulations from top companies
• Earn completion certificates to boost your resume

Popular fields include:

• Software Engineering
• Cybersecurity
• Strategy Consulting
• Law
• Banking & Finance

Once you're on the UMassD Forage dashboard, you can explore programs tailored to your interests by using the filter options at the top of the page.

• Filter by Career Interest

Click on “Career Interest All” to select a specific field

• Filter by Company

Click on “Company All” to see a list of employers offering simulations.

Once you select a program—like Citi’s Technology Software Development—you’ll go through a short onboarding and begin the simulation. Here’s what happens next:

You’ll be asked how you found the program.

Select “University” or “Forage” (whichever best applies).

This is Step 1 of 5 in their onboarding process.

You’ll enter the simulation dashboard with a task list on the left.

Each simulation includes:

• A brief about what you’ll learn
• A description of what you’ll do
• A timeline showing progress from Task 1 to Finish Line

When You Finish

After completing all tasks:

• You’ll receive a Certificate of Completion
• You can share it on LinkedIn or download it for your resume
