Teaching

Mary McBride is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Legal Skills Program at the University of Massachusetts School of Law.  She is a UMass alumna, having received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from UMass Law.  Following graduation, she served as a law clerk for the Hon. Peter W. Agnes, Jr. at the Massachusetts Appeals Court and as the Principal Clerk of the Massachusetts Guide to Evidence Advisory Committee.  She also worked for several years as a Research Attorney within the Massachusetts Superior Court system, where she assisted Superior Court Justices with researching, drafting, and editing a wide range of civil and criminal opinions.  Most recently, Professor McBride served a three-year term as an Attorney Advisor within the Medicare Operations Division at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.  In this role, she advised Administrative Appeals Judges on the Medicare Appeals Council, conducting extensive legal research and drafting judicial decisions regarding complex coverage and payment disputes.  She holds a BA in English Language and Literature from Smith College and is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
