After twenty years with (add)ventures, a strategic and creative brand agency in East Providence, RI, Paul Dozois ’89 is ready to rise to the next level of his successful career as senior creative director. A former design and photography double major at UMass Dartmouth, Dozois will lead experiential campaigns from both a brand alignment and implementation perspective.

Dozois has been an invaluable member of the (add)ventures design and creative team, delivering successful projects to client partners like Stop & Shop and CVS Health. He credits his rampant professional success to the solid foundation of knowledge that he built at UMass Dartmouth.

“I think the highlight of my time at UMass Dartmouth was studying my two majors, design and photography,” said Dozois. “For it being the 1980s, they had the quality equipment that was current for the industry. It was a really great setup to be successful after graduation and puts you on the right path. I think that’s really important because when we interview folks at (add)ventures, they’re really well-versed in the equipment, software, and design knowledge.”

One of the other valuable lessons Dozois learned at UMass Dartmouth and continues to apply today is embracing different perspectives, solutions, and ideas that his team brings to the table. His senior design project pushed him to collaborate with other student designers, working together to ace their final assignment.

“As a senior creative director, you have to learn how to accept all types of people and ideas. That’s really important in this industry,” said Dozois. “There’s never one solution for every problem, and my new role is not to give people the solution. I’m supposed to guide them so they come up with their own.”

Dozois is focused on staying ahead of trends to drive the company’s growth, including the rise of artificial intelligence (AI). He said, “If you think about agencies from 20 years ago, we all had to adapt to the new digital world. If we don’t get on board with AI and grow with it by using it the right way, we will never keep succeeding.”

Dozois’ dedication to embracing his new role and navigating the evolving landscape of his industry doesn’t just highlight his drive to excel and adapt; it showcases the kind of leadership qualities that will undoubtedly propel his own career forward and inspire those around him every day.
