Aiden Gula ’19 transferred to UMass Dartmouth for many reasons – he knew the University’s reputation, its strong engineering programs, and the opportunities it offers. But it was also really important to know that all his academic credits would transfer, and he would stay on track to graduate on time.

“With MassTransfer and the articulation agreement with Bristol Community College (where he earned an associate in science in engineering technology), I was confident UMass would accept all the credits I earned,” he said.

Aiden found all he needed at UMass Dartmouth. “I am really happy I made this decision,” he said. “I got an affordable education that prepared me for the workforce and for graduate school.” Right now, Aiden is pursuing his master’s degree at UMass Amherst.

The faculty are challenging and always willing to help, he added. “They are motivated to teach not just theory, but practical skills tied to what industry wants. They are connected to industry, so they let us know what industry looks for.” He applied for summer internships through the University, encouraged by faculty to use them to develop his career.

“Going to UMass Dartmouth opened doors for me,” he said. “I developed the tools for success in a career and grad school. I was able to take advantage of the great opportunities there.”
