Account Holds
A hold is a restriction placed on a student’s COIN account because the university needs the student to complete something before allowing certain activities—most importantly, registering for classes. The list below explains the most common hold types and how to get them removed. For any hold not listed, contact the Student Service Center.
Common holds and how to remove them
Advising Hold (ADV) – Please make an appointment with your academic advisor to discuss your academic goals and remove this hold. You can find information about your academic advisor in your COIN account.
Balsam & Spruce Balance Due (BSH) – To make a payment, log in to the Entrata Housing Portal - learn more about Balsam and Spruce billing.
Emergency Contact Verification Hold (EMC) – To remove an EMC hold, log in to COIN and verify your information.
Balance Due Hold (GBD) – To remove a GBD hold, make a payment or contact the Student Service Center to discuss payment and or a payment plan.
Hold Transcript (HTR) – An HTR is not an actual hold but reflects that a hold exists on the account. For clarification, contact the Student Service Center.
Immunization Hold (IMM) – To remove an IMM, upload your updated vaccination records to the health portal.
Balance Due Hold (PBD) – To remove a PBD hold, make a payment or contact the Student Service Center to discuss payment and or a payment plan.
Balance Due Hold (RBD) – To remove a RBD hold, make a payment or contact the Student Service Center to discuss payment and or a payment plan.
