Biography

Patricia Marshall grew up in Austin, Texas where she received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from The University of Texas with a performance certificate.  While a student at the University, Mrs. Marshall performed with the Laredo Philharmonic Orchestra in Laredo, Texas.   She moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1983 and attended the New England Conservatory of Music and studied with Peter Hadcock earning a Master’s Degree in clarinet performance. 

Since moving to New England, she has performed with the Plymouth Philharmonic as third clarinet and bass clarinet since 1987, as well as the Tri-county Symphonic Band, The American Band, and the Marion Concert Band.  She has also performed with the New Bedford Symphony, Nashua Symphony, Brockton Symphony, Boston First Night performances at Sanders Theatre and Jordan Hall of “Die Fledermaus”, the Henschel Chamber ensemble, and at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro.

Mrs. Marshall has also taught private clarinet lessons to students from several schools in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island areas including:  Wachusett-Regional High School, Braintree, Foxboro, Medway and Tiverton, RI and served in a Lecturers position as an adjunct clarinet instructor for the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT.  She has also served as an adjudicator in Texas and New England for Middle and High School level solo and ensemble performances.

In 2018, Mrs. Marshall retired from teaching Public School Music with 32 years of experience.  She served as a Band, Orchestra, Choral and General Music educator.

In January of 2012, Mrs. Marshall joined the music department faculty at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where she teaches applied clarinet lessons, preparing students for juries and recitals.
