Edward Lundy ’22 finds UMass Dartmouth a positive environment.

Edward Lundy ’22 of Lawrence, MA, says that one of the best things about UMass Dartmouth is that a lot of people celebrate his two passions – academics and athletics.

“I am recognized for my work on the field and in the classroom,” the marketing major said. “UMass Dartmouth is big enough to provide great opportunities but small enough to be known and valued.”

Edward lists the accomplishments of his teammates in the recent Little East Conference track and field competition, only acknowledging his own impressive list of standing records at the end. “I’m pretty happy with what we’ve done,” he said. “Our hard work is starting to pay off.”

He finds UMass Dartmouth a positive environment that appealed to him when he toured the campus as a prospective student. “I knew it was the place for me – a place where I could write my own story,” he said.

“We’re surrounded by people who want us to succeed,” he added. “It is a family-like environment, where everything is close by, and the resources are wonderful.” He cited the professors’ open-door policy, where you can get advice and connections, as well as guidance in navigating a career path. “You always have people in your corner.”

As for his career path, he is keeping an open mind and taking advantage of the many opportunities at UMass Dartmouth. “I am a student first and an athlete second,” he said. “My education at UMass Dartmouth is my passport to the world.”
