UMass Law Professor Irene Scharf was interviewed by Cardozo Law Review’s Pod Curiam Podcast about her recently published article, Second Class Citizenship? The Plight of Naturalized Special Immigrant Juveniles. The podcast interview was hosted by Cardozo Law Review’s Editor-in-Chief, Jared Grubow. The discussion explored what it means to be a citizen of the United States and what rights and privileges are inherent in citizenship. Professor Scharf also explained how U.S. law has only one class of citizenship, but history has shown that special immigrant juveniles are the exception. The interview concluded with Professor Scharf’s thoughts on potential legislative amendments to improve the future for special immigrant juveniles.
