Why Accreditation Matters in CVPA

At the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, accreditation means your education meets high standards for quality, rigor, and real-world preparation.

The university is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). This recognition shows that UMass Dartmouth has been carefully reviewed and meets the expectations set by higher education leaders across the region.

UMass Dartmouth is also an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the national accrediting agency for art and design. This accreditation applies to the university’s art and design programs within the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) and confirms that they meet national standards for curriculum, faculty, and student achievement.

Our Interior Architecture + Design program is additionally accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), ensuring students are prepared for professional practice in the field.
