Please join us in welcoming Maria Lawton to the UMASSD campus!  She will hold a meet and greet in the Grand Reading Room of the Claire T. Carney Library this Sunday, 23 April 2023.  While on campus she will talk about her season 2 of her RIPBS series, "Maria's Portuguese Table". Please see the attached poster for event details.

Chef Maria Lawton, is the host and executive producer of the award-winning PBS series, Maria’s Portuguese Table. The show masterfully combines food, history, and culture, taking viewers on a mouthwatering adventure through the USA and the Azores, Portugal. Maria Lawton will explore the creative process behind the show, highlighting the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural heritage through gastronomy. Additionally, Maria Lawton will discuss how her personal experiences and passion for Portuguese cuisine have shaped her mission to share the richness of Azorean traditions with a global audience. Join us as we uncover the captivating stories and flavors that have propelled Maria’s Portuguese Table into the hearts and homes of viewers worldwide.
