Mariam Ismail

I received my PhD in chemical engineering from Northeastern University in 2011. There, I developed a novel synthesis of a photocatalyst for enhanced visible light photocatalytic applications. I currently work at an MIT photovoltaic startup called 1366 Technologies. Here I work on developing coating materials to aid in the growth of silicon wafers via our Direct WaferTM technology; a technology that is cheaper and more efficient than current polysilicon production methods.

As a junior, I joined the Advanced Technology & Manufacturing Center (ATMC) to conduct research under the advising of Dr. Chen-Lu Yang. My experience at ATMC sparked an interest in green technologies and environmental applications.
