CVPA Fall Semester Info
The University is working to support students, staff, and faculty affected by the relocation of Star Store facilities.

We invite applicants and their families to visit campus:
- get to know us and tour our extensive facilities
- meet faculty members and students
- ask questions and get answers
The Office of Admissions schedules campus tours daily throughout the academic year and on most Saturdays during the fall and spring semesters. Tours are also available during the summer.
Summer Destination Days and fall Open Houses also provide opportunities to learn more about CVPA's programs and facilities.
Informational sessions with a CVPA representative, guided tours of the CVPA building and Star Store campus, and informal in-person portfolio reviews are available by appointment for prospective students. Students are encouraged to bring original work when possible. Sketchbooks, works-in-progress, and digital representations of work are acceptable for these informal reviews. To schedule: email Jason Loete or call 508-910-6635.
Schedule a classroom visit
CVPA Representatives visit high school art and music classrooms, community colleges, after school programs, and other institutional events throughout the country. If you would like a CVPA representative to visit, please email Jason Loete or call 508-910-6635.
Portfolio review days
A component of UMassD's fall Open Houses, portfolio review sessions are highly recommended for students entering an undergraduate studio arts program in CVPA.
Review sessions provide applicants with an opportunity to sit down with faculty and talk about their work and their aspirations for their future. During these sessions, faculty members critique students' work, identify the accomplished work and indicate areas in which students might improve their overall portfolio presentation. The sessions are tremendously beneficial and allow both students and faculty an informal opportunity to make meaningful connections.
The College of Visual and Performing Arts will be offering personal portfolio reviews at the National Portfolio Day events this year. Reviews traditionally scheduled during Open Houses have been temporarily suspended. We continue to accept portfolio submissions via Slideroom. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jason Loete email@example.com.
National portfolio review days
CVPA participates in select portfolio review days in our area. Dates and locations to be announced.
