ESOL for Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Classes

We offer ESOL classes integrated with Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training. This program is for English language learners interested in careers as CNAs. Students will develop and improve English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. They will also work with our advisor on interview practice and resumes. Upon completion, students will be qualified to take the Massachusetts State Nurse Aide test leading to job placement.

Classes are funded through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Adult and Community Learning Services.

Daytime: Monday-Friday, 9:00 am-2:30 pm for 16 weeks. Clinical hours may vary slightly.

New classes begin in September and February.

Our partners

• Coastal Career Academy provides our CNA and home health aide training.  Students learn the skills needed to work in a variety of medical settings. The course consists of classroom instruction and skills practice in a nursing lab.
• 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers assists with outreach and job placement.
• Brandon Woods New Bedford, Sacred Heart, and Our Lady’s Haven serve as sites for students’ clinical hours.
• MassHire Greater New Bedford Workforce Board assists with marketing the program to its member organizations and area employers, and MassHire Greater New Bedford Career Center markets the program to its customers.
