Exploration of globalization through its causes and in terms of the economic, cultural and political consequences that have followed. The course approaches this theme from both descriptive and normative perspectives. Topics could include the food revolution and changing global demographics, the internet and its impact on human interaction, climate crisis and global solidarity. May be repeated with change of content.

Comparative analysis of the political processes, ideologies, development, and governmental structure of countries from different regions of the world.

Writing in Political Science. Variable topics course used for instruction in political science writing methods.

The politics of the Middle East in terms of the region's history, geography, culture and the impact of the West. Country studies include Turkey, Egypt, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf States.

Examining the statistical methods used in science and everyday life and addresses the problem of pedagogy and statistical misconceptions. The course also examines the modern educational technology and software used in data analysis. Mathematical concepts are aligned with the middle and high school mathematic standards of the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks.

Dr. Dilshod Achilov is a scholar of comparative politics with expertise in democratization, contentious politics, and computational social science methods. His research focuses on political change and regime transitions in the Middle East and Central Asia. His work also explores the integration of conventional statistical techniques with fuzzy-set comparative analysis, alongside the computational analysis of unstructured data systems.

Dr. Achilov is a recipient of the prestigious U.S. Fulbright Scholar Award and served as an inaugural Alwaleed Fellow at the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations. He was also a visiting scholar at the Davis Center at Harvard University. He has received multiple competitive research grants and conducted extensive fieldwork across the Middle East and Central Asia.

His scholarly work has been published in reputable academic journals such as International Political Science Review, Social Science Quarterly, Democratization, Mediterranean Politics, Religions, Problems of Post-Communism, Journal of Civil Society, Religion, State and Society, Asia Policy, Proceedings of the ACM on Human-Computer Interaction, and Digest of Middle East Studies.
