Lusophone Africa

  • H-Luso-Africa is a network and discussion list initiated by the Lusophone African Studies Organization (LASO) and integrated in the H-Net online hub.
  • This website is home to the "first online Cape-Verdean newspaper", A Semana. In addition to top stories and links, the site also features PDF downloads for many of its published articles.
  • The official website of the Capeverdean Creolo Institute, founded in Boston, MA in 1996. The Institute was designed to foster awareness and appreciation of Capeverdean language and culture, and contains information about conferences, workshops, research, and articles.
  • An outstanding website, posts "over 800 stories daily in English and French", and includes access to "multi-lingual streaming programming" (such as online audio files), as well as an archive containing over 900,000 searchable articles.
  • BBC's service covering Africa in Portuguese has been discontinued, but this archived version contains a wealth of past programming and coverage.
  • "Desabafos Angolanos" is described by its creators as a "BLOG de desabafos, experiências quotidianas dignas de se partilhar por todos e para todos, de carácter sério, sem conotação política!" in addition to "um espaço de crítica social." Its most striking feature is its collection of photographs (submitted by readers), which depict many aspects of day-to-day life in Angola.
