Festival of Light and Fashion

On Friday, April 23, 2021, UMass Dartmouth’s College of Visual and Performing Arts presented a live stream event: Festival of Light and Fashion.

Fashion and Interior Architecture + Design (IA+D) Students joined forces to create a unique experience at the “Vietnam Veterans Peace Memorial Amphitheater” on the UMass Dartmouth campus. Junior and Senior Fashion Design students presented their collections, illuminated by the creative lighting designs of Interior Architecture and Design Students (IA+D)

IA+D students worked with industry professionals from Boston Light Source and Lumenpulse to transform the exterior of the Claire T. Carney Library and the Amphitheater with light and illuminating the runway for the collections. Fashion designers developed their collections alongside mentors from companies such as New Balance, DXL, Birch Outfitters, and US Army: Natick Soldier System Center. This collaborative partnership demonstrates UMass Dartmouth’s dynamic commitment to integrate industry and academia.
