Heather Shaw is a full-time lecturer for both Graphic Design/Letterform and Digital Media departments. Prior to her full-time appointment, she held adjunct teaching positions at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and the New England Institute of Art and Design. She has lectured nationally and internationally on the integration of dynamic media in traditional graphic design pedagogy.
Her curriculum “Understanding Visual Narratives” is published in Teaching Motion Design: Course Offerings and Class Projects from the Leading Undergraduate and Graduate Programs (edited by Michael Dooley and Steven Heller). She Co-chaired the AIGA National Design Education Conference: Massaging Media 2: Graphic Design Education in the Age of Dynamic Media.
Her professional experience spans print, motion and interactive media, specializing in museums, non-profits, and universities. She currently serves as the Vice President for AIGA Boston, the Professional Association for Design.
