Statement

The idea for the project for Wai has been in the works for a long time in my life. Combining my interests in drawing and basketball lead to a medium where I could fuse the two. Configuring sneaker designs became an obsession of mine.

I figured to bring my Capstone full circle by creating the hypothetical branding for the sustainable shoe company Wai. The name Wai translates to water in the Maori Cook Islands dictionary. The brand promises to create its shoes from repurposed recycles from the Pacific Ocean, the same region Cook Island is home to.

Wai is a hypothetical shoe company that supports the ethical repurposing of ocean plastics recycled from the Pacific Ocean. I have designed the branding and packaging for Wai. The mockups shown here include a shoebox, sneaker bag, and a company card.
