About Yanira Ramirez
Yanira Ramirez is a passionate senior graphic designer, currently attending the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth for her BFA. She has experience using Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Bridge, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe XD. Her goal is to inspire designs and exceed each client’s anticipation with the ability to create compelling design solutions across various media platforms to meet company brand objectives. Yanira Ramirez will receive her degree in Graphic Design in May 2021.
Statement
My project will be structured as a branding guideline for designers based on do’s and don’ts when designing for the low-vision community. It will be- based on my research experience. The guiding book will be titled: Designing for the visually impaired (by a visually impaired designer). I will be introducing the methodology of “Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype & Test”. The story that I will give about my own experience called What it is Like to be a Legally Blind Graphic Designer will be the introduction as a window of empathy for the readers. I will define the specific problems I encountered, and I will make a prototype of five design solutions as examples.
