About Brianna Hickey
Brianna Hickey is a graphic designer from Westport, Massachusetts. A fan of books and comics since childhood which has carried through to her adulthood. Brianna aims to design for various projects that suit her interests and continue to discover new outlets of creativity.
Statement
For my capstone project I am illustrating and creating a children’s book about a spider monkey in the Amazon rainforest. The book is specifically for my nephew and is co-created with my sister. It is something of sentimental value as I wanted to give him something that we worked on for him. My sister came up with the main character and what he encounters in the book. I am illustrating and assembling the book from start to finish. The book follows Zico throughout the forest and points out animals and plants that correspond with the alphabet. From A to Z, the book will be illustrated with little scenes of each of his encounters.
