About Goose Rodriguez

Goose Rodriguez (he/they) is a 22-year-old illustrator who finds joy in creating characters and using fantastical elements in his artwork. His inspiration stems from TTRPGs and the collaborative storytelling that is cultivated by the community around them. His Capstone project takes these interests and combines them into a visual storytelling medium. Goose has illustrated a book of visual puzzles based on the state of Massachusetts and currently runs a biweekly D&D group for the South Coast LGBTQ+ network.

Statement

My comic is adapted from a story near and dear to my heart, that of a tabletop RPG campaign I developed. This odd, whimsical story takes place in a modern fantasy world in which the magical and the mundane walk hand-in-hand. Along the way, I found myself learning and adapting to the process of making a comic. Composing the panels on each page proved to be a particular challenge, as each panel was both its own work as well as part of a whole. Though this is only a brief glimpse into the story I wanted to tell, these few pages say more than just a story; they are evidence of how much I was able to adapt and grow while making my first comic. I really hope they capture your imagination!
