About Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith is an illustrator, designer, and world-builder from Taunton, MA. His work focuses on worlds of fantasy and wonder, taking heavy inspiration from his love for tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) and video games.

Statement

With my project, I set out to create my own TTRPG system that is rules-light and thus great for introducing new players to the space. TTRPGs are social games centered around group narrative storytelling, where players create characters and play through challenges or scenes in a fictional world. I am inspired by these types of games because of the sense of community that they foster. TTRPGs give players the freedom of expression, and an escape to imaginative fantasy worlds. This project allowed me to focus on creating art and telling stories that help to immerse readers in the fantasy world I created, Aupheth.
