About Ade Bello

Ade Bello is an illustrator from Montclair, New Jersey. They have always had an interest in art and storytelling and are combining those two passions through their comics. He hopes that someday his work will inspire someone to pursue art the way that graphic novels and comics from his childhood did for him.

Statement

Phantasmagoric is an original graphic novel currently in development that tells the story of a group of teens who stumble across a hidden town of monsters. Thought to be a group of monster hunters, they are held captive by the intimidatingly protective mayor, the Mothman. In order to be free from the magical barrier keeping them in town, the group must earn the trust of not only the mayor, but the townspeople as well. The excerpt in this exhibition shows the group’s first introduction to the supernatural, forcing them to confront a reality they thought was purely fiction.
