About Amanda Staffier
Amanda is a graphic design student from Yarmouth, Massachusetts, and has been very artistic since she was a child. Starting out as the kid her friends came to when they needed someone to make bubble letters, Amanda was always fascinated by the way people could communicate with one another through creativity and making beautiful things. At first, she began her academic career here at UMASS Dartmouth in computer science and found that path unfulfilling for what she had always wanted for herself, deciding to hold onto her dreams for artistic expression and pursue what she loves doing. Amanda is frequently inspired by all things vintage and nostalgic, elements of which usually seem to wind up somewhere in most corners of her life. She enjoys the ideas and looks of the old made new and thinks incorporating it into her work makes for interesting visual storytelling. Amanda has a passion for typography, branding design, logo design, and putting a little bit of herself into everything she creates!
Statement
TRiNKETS is an accessory brand identity project born out of love for all things cute and a little bit weird, as well as a hobby of making jewelry by hand. This brand was created to not only capture the spirit of the product, but also self-love and personal expression. Everyone deserves to exist and feel good about themselves, so TRiNKETS was created as somewhere for people to find a little piece of handmade happiness for themselves in the form of fun and unique items.
With a cohesive brand identity involving promotional material, packaging design, and distinct visual style, TRiNKETS is an exercise in creating a successful example of what good design can do to represent the ideas and mission of a product. Communicating what an item, service or product is just by looking at it is an intrinsic part of what graphic design can do. Design is not just an artistic vehicle to make a box look pretty; it’s the creative decisions that help people visualize ideas and concepts in a meaningful and digestible way. TRiNKETS aims to communicate the kinds of positive feelings and ideas the items themselves would hope to inspire within people, in the effort to design an exciting experience.
