Statement
As a digital artist, I focus on expression through posing, composition, and color. My goals as an artist led me to create an art book for my capstone project, where I chose to design fifteen pages showcasing original characters and creatures within a story of my own. Fantasy is one of my biggest inspirations as a genre, and it is something I try to keep at the center of my work.
I drew inspiration from many art books that I own, as well as ones I found online. One of my main references was Moryo Works – Fantasy World: Character Collection Artbook, which influenced the layout of my character page spreads. I wanted each page to include a full-body drawing of the character along with smaller sketches of important objects, notes, and details related to them. I also included creatures that interact with the characters, as well as a map of the world they live in.
I hope that my work can inspire young artists in the same way that I was inspired by other creators online.
