About Eric Tippins
Eric Tippins is a digital illustrator from Mattapoisett, MA. From an early age, he could be found spending hours drawing his favorite characters from Dragon Ball Z, Marvel and DC Comics, as well as countless video game franchises. With a penchant for superheroes and action/adventure, he aims to keep his work dynamic and fun. Whether it is through writing and illustrating his own comic, designing more strange creatures, or finally working on all those sidelined projects, Eric is excited to continue experimenting creatively in whatever way he can.
Statement
This collection of illustrations and text is meant to act as a field guide, containing the research and discoveries made by a mysterious adventurer from a world akin to our own. Though the creatures found in these pages may be similar to beasts found on our own planet, there is much more to these elusive, almost mythological creatures than meets the eye.
The world of Pokémon was my main inspiration for this project, with multiple creature designs originating as my own version of Pokémon from many years ago. One of my earliest pieces of artwork was a zine of Pokémon drawings, so this project truly feels like a full-circle moment for me. With how much fun I had designing these fantastical creatures, there will surely be more to come in the future.
