About Evan Menezes

Evan Menezes is a 2D animator, game developer, and illustrator from Fall River, Massachusetts. Evan always knew his destiny was in the arts, but things didn’t start getting serious until age 8, when he started a “company” with kids in his elementary school class that specialized in making comics. At age 11, he received his first drawing tablet and immediately began doing hundreds of commissions drawing Minecraft skins. Since then, he has expanded his creative arsenal from the sequential art he began with to include 3D modeling, character design, 2D animation, and game design. If there’s anything Evan dislikes, it’s being put in a box.

Making art as gifts is one of Evan’s favorite things to do, which is why he pivoted his capstone project from an animated short to Super Jommy Quest, a 2D platforming love letter to his partner, Jayden, created in the Godot Engine. The game follows Jommy the Wizard, who must save the kidnapped Princess Evan by using their super-jumping powers to restore prosperity to the land. In addition to himself and his partner, Super Jommy Quest also features satirical versions of his friends as enemies and NPCs.

The demo is playable and available for download on frogsella.itch.io. Evan also currently works on comics for the NYC-based Epic Wayne Press.
