About Ryan Shears

Ryan is an illustrator from Massachusetts. He has always loved comics and cartoons and has been drawing for as long as he can remember. He has a passion for creating fantasy characters and worlds for those characters to inhabit. Ryan also has a love for cozy sandbox games, his two favorites being Terraria and Minecraft.

Statement

I have always wanted a world to call my own, in which I can place my own version of classic monsters. That is where the idea for Null saga came from. The comic Origins of Null-born shows the upbringing of the mage Obsidian, who was reborn in a world where magic was stolen from humans, and few are capable of using it to its fullest potential. The comic is a preview showing Obsidian’s upbringing and how he will come to embark on a new journey. The series was inspired by the epic fantasy work of Brandon Sanderson and the creature design and lore of the Monster Garden YouTube channel.
