About Thalia Barden

Thalia Barden is an Interior Architecture + Design student, born and raised in central Maine. Her life has been shaped by rural grit, small town community and passionate people. Growing up underfoot in her family’s custom fabrication business, she developed an appreciation for quality, craftsmanship and handwork from a young age. With over a decade of experience as a nanny, she takes great pride in caring for others, as well as helping people cultivate their spaces to support their life. Thalia is passionate about craft, quality and caring for others. Currently based in Dartmouth, MA, where she has lived, worked and studied since 2022, she is eager to travel and spend more time with her family in 2026.

Statement

As a person, and a designer, I believe that space is an experience – so much more than a building, or the furnishings within. Dynamic spaces are about feeling and meaning. I want my work to reflect heart and intention in every detail; facilitating thoughtful, innovative design that emphasizes historic preservation, sustainability, and human well-being. I have found immense purpose in supporting children and families as a nanny over the last 10 years. Caring for others is my greatest passion, and I see design as an opportunity to carry on that mission in a new way. As a designer, I hope to build a legacy of thoughtful, joyful spaces that nurture their inhabitants for generations to come.
