TITLE: Product Development Engineer
LOCATION:

REQUIRED
EXPEREINCE AND EDUCATION:
- Preferred
degree BS in mechanical engineering but will consider BS in textile engineering.
- Experience
level needed - one - two years experience with warpknit and/or stitchbond
fabrics.

SUMMARY:
Planning
and production of new warpknit / stitchbond product development samples, new
specifications, management of
product
development projects with production scale ups, and raw material development.
JOB
DUTIES:
- Design,
develop, and deliver new products and processes as requested.
- Plan,
organize, and manage new product development projects as assigned.
- Maintain
development project and style master list including detailed records of
development specs, lab test data, simulated cost sheets, physical sample, and
any other necessary information generated.
- Manage
development fabric inventories to insure they are readily available when
needed and that obsolete goods are properly disposed.
- Coordinate
monthly product development reviews with each of the business managers.
- Generate
and distribute communication concerning product development projects.
- Ensure
that manufacturing specifications initially conform to those of
development for new products launched.
- Specify
raw materials for new products and coordinate with purchasing to ensure
timely acquisition.
- Supervise
development coordinators and technicians in their daily activities.
- Provide
technical support to manufacturing for troubleshooting problem processes
and products and implementing preventive and corrective actions
- Determine,
ensure and maintain adequate training and skill level of development
technicians required to complete their assigned tasks.
- Work
with customers and product managers on new product developments to ensure
customer needs are met.
