Workers’ Education Funding Tops $1 Million

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Certification

UMass Dartmouth’s Workers’ Education Program (WEP) was recently awarded an Adult Basic Education grant increase in the amount of $69,381.00. This brings our total for the year to $1,019,143. This funding supports our Adult Basic Education (ABE)/HiSET, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and ESOL for CNA classes.

The increase in funding can be used to support direct instruction and student support services. Programs have the flexibility to use these funds for a wide range of costs including student supplies, technology, staff hours, and salaries.

The WEP is funded by grants from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Adult and Community Services.
