About Brynn Vasil
Brynn Vasil is a graphic designer and ceramicist living in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She is interested in applying graphics to her hand made ceramic mugs. Brynn is currently finishing her BFA in graphic design at the College of Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Brynn enjoys using nature, peers, and her surroundings for inspiration when it comes to her pieces. She believes that art is a great way of expression.
Statement
I have designed an exhibition, and unique works of art, to bring awareness to traumatic abuse and mental illness. The pieces are based on interviews that I conducted, and they represent trauma through abstractions. I understood what these individuals felt emotionally, physically, and mentally.
In addition to the pieces I created, I have included other artists who have represented mental illness or faced some traumatic events in their lives.
