About Christine Weir

Christine Weir is an illustrator and graphic designer from Lancaster, Massachusetts. Her main interests for a career are visual development for animation and book cover illustration. Her senior Capstone is about world-building and character design. 

Statement

I created a fantastical natural world and the characters that fit in the environment. In the beginning of the process, I was focused on the environment and character design separately. I decided moving forward that I was going to incorporate the character into its surroundings during the early stages of the environment development. Not only did it make the characters and their homes feel more cohesive, I was able to make more environments as a whole for the world. As an Honors student, I designed a process book to accompany the series, inspired by Disney’s Art of books. Process books showcase visual development that may not be visible in the final product and provide a behind-the-scenes look at the hours of unseen labor that go into it.
