Art + Design: Graphic Design
About Crystalis Lavergne
Crystalis Lavergne is a graphic designer from Worcester, Massachusetts, whose work has been showcased at the Worcester Public Library and UMass Dartmouth. Her passion for art began in childhood, inspired by the intricate drawings of her grandfather and aunt. With the encouragement of her family, her early doodles evolved into bold abstract paintings and compelling graphic designs.
Today, Lavergne works primarily with acrylic paints and digital media, blending traditional and modern techniques to create visually dynamic pieces. Her latest exhibition explores the charm of cat cafés, a theme close to her heart, reflecting her deep love for animals—especially her own beloved cats, Sake and Juno. Through her art, she invites viewers into a whimsical world where design and personal passion intertwine.
Statement
Lavergne’s exhibition, Saju, brings together her love for cats and cozy café spaces through branding and print design. The name Saju—a blend of her cats' names, Sake and Juno—also references the East Asian concept of fortune-telling based on birth date and time. This project creates a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflects the joy of being around cats.
“I have always loved cats and enjoy spending time in cafés, so I combined the two. The idea of sipping coffee while playing with kittens—some ready for adoption—is something truly special to me. I hope this experience brings others as much happiness as it brings me.”
