About Emmanuel Granados

Emmanuel Granados is a Fashion Design student at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a strong interest in combining creativity with practicality. He’s designed custom pieces for events like the YWCA “Red Dress Event” and showcased his work in runway shows such as LIGHT +FASHION, gaining hands-on experience in both design and presentation. Outside of school, he spends much of my time developing personal projects that allow him to grow creatively and technically. He designs and constructs original garments from start to finish, experimenting with new silhouettes, fabrics, and techniques while refining my patternmaking and sewing skills. These independent projects give him the freedom to explore his own style, take creative risks, and continuously build a stronger, more intentional body of work.

Statement

My work as a designer is driven by a strong personal vision and a desire to improve my craft constantly. I focus on balancing creativity with practicality, creating garments that are visually striking, well-constructed, and intentional in every detail. I’m drawn to strong silhouettes, thoughtful design choices, and pieces that feel both bold and wearable. Through my studies and runway experiences, I’ve built a solid technical foundation, but much of my growth comes from the time I spend independently designing outside of class. I regularly develop personal projects from concept to completion, experimenting with fabrics, refining construction techniques, and pushing my skills further with every piece. This self-directed work allows me to define my own aesthetic and challenge myself creatively. I design to sharpen my abilities, express my ideas, and build a body of work that reflects who I am.
