About Lindsey Mannion

Lindsey Mannion is a senior Fashion Design student. As a returning student, she brings a professional and intentional approach to her work, informed by previous studies in Retail Management and Graphic Design. Lindsey has completed two Product Development internships with TJX Companies across Children’s and Women’s Apparel, as well as a recent contract role assisting the apparel design team at J.Jill. She is actively involved in her department as Treasurer of the UMass Dartmouth Fashion Design Club and a participant in community fashion shows. Her work reflects a balance of technical skill, industry experience, and a genuine love for expressive, thoughtfully made clothing.

Statement

This collection reimagines 1920s glamour through a retro-futurist lens, creating childrenswear that balances structure and softness. Inspired by Art Deco and early futurism, I combine delicate materials like feathers and organza with more modern elements such as vinyl, metallic knits, and lightweight canvas. My process blends draping and patternmaking, with a strong focus on fabric, texture, and movement. Through layering and contrast, the garments feel both expressive and wearable, reflecting how girls want to dress today.
